The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency was a very useful tool for President Trump to keep his campaign promise to secure the border. Illegal immigration into the United States was a disaster. We had been told that there were around 11 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. A recent study from Yale says that the real number is more like around 22 million. That would be about 1 out of every 15 people. There were large, unguarded gaps in the border through which deadly drugs flowed into the country along with the illegal immigrants. To Donald Trump this was totally unacceptable. He campaigned on the promise of sealing the border and building a wall, and when he took office he actually kept his promise and started to work on the problem.
President Trump did his best to get the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I. C. E.) agency all the resources they needed, and the I. C. E. agency became very effective in what it did. Tom Homan, who was acting directore of I. C. E. under President Trump, says that he oversaw about 1.2 million deportations. Illegal immigration decreased by about 90% to a 45 – year low.
President Trump reviewed and reformed the asylum policies. Previously immigrants seeking asylum would come into the country and they would be given a court date when to appear and present their case to a judge. Of course, they would not keep their court date. They would just get lost in the country, and nobody knew where they would be. President Trump decided to try something different. Those who sought asylum would have to remain in Mexico while their petition for asylum was being considered. It worked. About 86% of those who applied for asylum were denied, and within about 60 days of implementing the Remain-In-Mexico policy, those who sought to abuse the system stopped coming.
President Trump got no help from congress to build the wall. There was no funding, and many in his own party were resisting him. He finally came up with some funds from the Department of Defense which he could use, but he had to do legal lawsuit battles with environmental groups and some individual land owners. President Trump had committed himself to build 400 miles of border wall using the best design and materials available, consulting with border patrol about the most effective design. People in Trumps own administration were opposing him. Facing massive opposition, he was able to build 465 miles of wall, more than what he had promised, and he intended to do more. He needed probably less than a month to finish the job. The President’s efforts proved very effective. Illegal immigration was decreased by almost 90%, according to some reports. The decrease in illegal migration saved American tax payers billions in costs for law enforcement, detention, transportation court calls, removal calls, medical care for illegal immigrants, and educational costs for the minor children of illegals. And things kept getting better.
All that progress stopped when the deep state swamp stole the election from President Trump. Construction on the border wall stopped abruptly, despite contracts which had already been signed and materials already purchased. Purchased materials, ready to be used, were sold for 5 (five) cents on the dollar. Announcements were published in Latin America and throughout the world that the American border border was opened. They are issued maps for the trips and instructions for what to say and do. Upon arrival they turn themselves over to Border Patrol. They tell the agents that they want to apply for asylum. Within 24 hours they are released and are given work authorization while they wait for their asylum court hearing within 3 – 5 years. They are also given free medical care and a free plane ticket to the city of their choice at tax payer expense. America currently pays about $116 billion on illegal immigration expenses each year.
Since 2021 illegal immigrants have been entering at a rate of 2 million a year, and in the year 2023 alone about 2.5 million illegals entered the United States. I. C. E. is so overwhelmed with the influx of illegals that practically all their resources are used up in processing the illegals, changing diapers, mixing baby formula. 70% to 90% are taken off border patrol so that they can care for the illegal migrants. That leaves large sections of the border unattended where Mexican cartels can cross with impunity, smuggling fentanyl and other drugs and trafficking women and children as sex slaves.
Despite their limited resources end extra work load, I. C. E has managed to arrest people from 171 different countries, many of whom are sponsors of terror. In 2022 alone more than 300 people were arrested who were on the terrorist watch list. There are about 1.7 million got-aways. Mexican cartels are in virtually complete control of the southern American border. Illegal immigrants cannot cross the border without being affiliated with the cartels. Those who try are try are likely to be killed. Women and girls who cannot pay with money must sell their bodies forr sex. Some have been tied to trees and raped.
This is not mere incompetence. The deep state swamp has a sinister purpose. We were told that there were about 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. A recent study from Yale reveals that the real number is about 22 million. The deep state swamp wants to make them all citizens so that they can vote in American elections because the overwhelming majority of first-time immigrant voters vote democrat. Even without being citizens, illegal immigrants are automatically registered to vote when they apply for a driver’s license. And they don’t have to risk going to the polls on election day. In many states, absentee ballots arrive at their homes, even if they have not applied for them. We call them illegal immigrants. The deep state swamp snakes call them democrat voters. And it’s all at our expense, of course.
